Photographs of the construction were taken by the 2nd United States Engineer's Office, Cincinnati Ohio. Scenes include work near "The Breaks" on the Big Sandy River at the Virginia-Kentucky border in Dickenson County; Natural Tunnel, Scott County; and a tunnel near Pennington Gap, Lee County. There are also three scenes of natural tunnels used by the Southern Railway near Bristol and one unidentified view.
